Who We Are

Development works when people participate.

Foundation for Rural Development (FORUD) is a Malawian organisation working to advance participation, inclusion and sustainable development.

We believe that communities should not simply be beneficiaries of development. They should be active participants in shaping the decisions, solutions and opportunities that affect their lives.

Our work focuses on creating opportunities for citizens and vulnerable groups to participate meaningfully in development while promoting dignity, empowerment, equality and sustainable change.
